My painting is about homesickness, about longing, about memories of my hometown, of the neighbourhood where I lived as a child, of the streets where I used to play with other children, of old friends I grew up with… This painting was created following a trip back to my old home, eight years after my last visit; seeing my dear friends and relatives again and revisiting the places of my childhood left me with a deep sense of homesickness, a longing that lasted for months.
