We associate summer with long, bright days and evenings, warm air, warm thunderstorms and holidays on beautiful beaches around the world… However, the poetic associations of summer are now joined by extreme heat, forest fires, destructive rainfall, floods… Nevertheless, my painting was inspired by the beautiful aspects of summer, which continue to exist despite the terrible news that reaches us almost daily. Notwithstanding this, my work of art is not intended to be a warning or a sermon about our shared responsibility for our planet, but simply a poetic, loving tribute to the most beautiful time of the year.
