Portrait of my Son based on the Portrait of Armand Roulin by Vincent van Gogh (1888)

27.5 x 19.6 inch, oil on canvas

In 1888, Vincent van Gogh painted portraits of all the members of the family of Joseph Roulin, a postman from Arles. My favourite portrait is that of Armand, the eldest son, who was seventeen at the time, which hangs in the Folkwang Museum in Essen. Based on the portrait of Armand Roulin, I painted a portrait of my son in the style of Vincent van Gogh.
