Hypnos is the god of sleep in Greek mythology. Whilst we sleep, we embark on adventurous, dangerous, beautiful and unsettling journeys; sometimes we remember them, sometimes we do not. Almost hypnotically, the white globe in my painting hovers above serene-looking white and blue clouds, beneath a cloudy sky streaked with violet… It is left to the imagination to decide whether my ‘Hypnos’ depicts a relaxing dream journey or an exciting one.
