Back to the Forest

22.04 x 16.5 inch, oil on paper, € 790

My painting illustrates the ambivalence of the forest: is it a place of refuge offering peace and tranquillity, or is it a dark, menacing place where one can get lost and be unable to find one’s way out? The title of this work is similarly ambivalent, but above all it aims to show that the forest is neither good nor bad, but simply is. Our attitude towards the forest is either positive or negative.
