When people talk about the apocalypse, we immediately think of destruction, the flood, the end of the world, as it is written in the last book of the Bible. The current political events in Europe and the Middle East make us think of the Apocalypse… Throughout history, whether in antiquity or in modern times, dictatorial and terrorist regimes have spread a truly apocalyptic mood through their cruelty and criminal behaviour against humanity. My pictures are not intended to make political statements, but are an expression of my feelings and thoughts and, not least, of my speechlessness in the face of such inhumanity, of which authoritarian rulers are capable.
