Inside me is an ‘inner canvas’ on which the images that form in my mind first manifest themselves before being transferred to the outer canvas on the easel in my studio. This purple colour initially floated like a diffuse cloud before my inner eyes, then condensed into powerful forms, drew in other colour nuances and found its way into the outside world. The viewers’ imagination decides whether ‘Rosa Purpura’ is a colour tone or a purple rose blossom opening up to them.
