Red and Gold Onions

11.8 x 15.7 inch, watercolour and coloured pencils on paper

Food that we buy at the supermarket or at the weekly market, and which we normally use in the kitchen every day, is such a natural part of our lives that we often – and sadly – fail to show it the appreciation and gratitude it deserves. The sheer beauty of their shapes and colours – quite apart from their valuable nutrients – deserves to be ‘portrayed’, as in this painting.
